If you want to sign up 20 or more volunteers, please contact Meals from the Heartland by phone at 515-473-9530 or by email. A short conversation will help us manage our available sign up spots, adequately care for your larger group needs and make room for others in our community who also wish to package meals. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Ingredients used in packaging are not donated to Meals from the Heartland. We pay to purchase those and need help to offset the costs when volunteer groups consist of 20 or more packagers. A minimum of $75 donation per volunteer.
Student groups under 50 packagers are not required to provide a donation to package. A $25 donation per volunteer is needed if nonprofit and student groups consist of 50 or more packagers.
If your group cannot cover this cost, through the efforts of community donors, we have four larger community events each year that your group can sign up for with no required donation:
- MLK Day
- Meals Madness
- Des Moines Annual Hunger Fight
- Christmas week
