On May 3 Meals from the Heartland is participating in Give Local Des Moines, a full day of community-wide crowdfunding.
Des Moines residents will celebrate local nonprofits through 24 hours of online giving.
The Give Local movement
This event is a part of Give Local America, a nationwide event where communities rally around the organizations that help restore the integrity of our country. This is the first year the event has come to Des Moines, so we are very excited to be a part of this kickoff.
If you are considering donating to us, we strongly encourage you to do it during this special event. Not only does this event support nonprofits, it also builds fellowship within our community and brings together organizations with one common goal: helping others.
Here’s how it works:
Everything takes place online. To donate, go to the Meals from the Heartland profile on the Give Local Des Moines website on May 3 from 12:00am to 11:59pm. There will be a local leaderboard so you can see which nonprofits have raised the most money throughout the day.
The donation functionality won’t be available until 12:00am on May 3. We encourage you to bookmark our profile link so you’ll have immediate access on the day of the event.
Why choose Meals from the Heartland?
Our nonprofit has thousands of faithful volunteers. People in our community know we provide food for the hungry in the Heartland and around the world. What people often don’t realize is that donations are just as important as meal packaging. In fact, without donations, we wouldn’t be able to provide ingredients, materials or a facility for packaging. Your donation will directly help feed the hungry.
We hope you’re as excited for this event as we are. We look forward to your participation on May 3. Thank you for your unfailing support!
