It’s even more crucial during this COVID-19 pandemic, to continue to feed those who desperately need our meals. The 13th Annual Hunger Fight presented by Hy-Vee, Wells Fargo, Corteva, John Deere and Kreg Tool, will look a little different this year due to COVID-19, but that won’t stop us and our caring community from packaging life-saving meals for starving children all over the world.

This year, we will be hosting this critical event at our Patty Cownie Packaging Center in West Des Moines. New packaging procedures will also be implemented to allow us to package as many bulk meals as possible for those in need.

Many 2-hour shifts will be available throughout the 3-week event to encourage individuals, small groups, businesses, organizations, civic groups, church and school groups to come together to package meals for distribution to those most vulnerable. Health and safety guidelines will be followed to ensure the health of all volunteers and staff.

Annual Hunger Fight Sponsors are needed to help us fund the millions of meals we will package. This is a great way to promote your brand and team-building! Please download AHF Sponsorship Form to learn more or contact Greg DeHaai at 515-473-9530 or greg.dehaai@mealsfromtheheartland.org to discuss in more detail. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Please note: If you’re bringing a student group, for safety reasons, you are required to meet the following grade and student-to-adult ratio requirements as we don’t have enough staff to supervise the students.

  • Grades 4-8: 2 students to 1 adult
  • Grades 9-12: 9 students to 1 adult
