Miles for the Heartland

Calling all cycling aficionados!  Are you ready to log some Miles for the Heartland and help feed hungry people all over the world?  Then look no further!

This September, often referred to as Hunger Action Month, you can join others and seek pledges for every mile ridden, accumulate those donations, and present them to Meals from the Heartland at a Miles for the Heartland celebration on Thursday, October 11th at The Hall in WDM.

To keep us all accountable to our pledge goal we’ve set up a Facebook group (Miles for the Heartland) where we’ll share hunger facts throughout the month, riders can schedule rides and invite others to join, riders can issue challenges as well as encourage one another in this common, cyber challenge.

We’ve included a Pledge Form and a Mileage Log for your use or feel free to use whatever works best for you.  Note: we’re suggesting $.20/mile as our meals cost $.20 so one mile – one meal is an easy way to promote what you’re doing.  Another easy, 3-step way to seek pledge/donations is to create a Facebook Fundraiser.  Simply visit our Facebook page, select + Create Fundraiser and you’re all set.
