It’s time to register your team for the Meals from the Heartland Annual Hunger Fight from August 29 through September 1, 2012 in Des Moines at Hy-Vee Hall. Why register your team now? It’s a great way to get people excited about participating in the event, and it gives you and you teammates a head start on fundraising.
This registration forms your fundraising team for the event. Remember, we rely on donations for individuals, groups and businesses to fund the meal packaging event. Without donations, we would not be able to host our Annual Hunger Fight each year. This year, our event goal is 5 million meals!
The average volunteer works a two-hour shift and packages 400 meals during that time. Each meal costs 20 cents to make so a donation of $20 will cover 100 meals. You can challenge your team to raise any amount you want to contribute!
We know you’re interested in signing up for volunteer shifts. Those shifts will open up in early August as they have in the past. BUT – if you register a team now, you’ll get the sign-up shift registration link a day earlier than the public, so register a team today!
